Calgary CNG Transit
In 2011, the City of Calgary endorsed Calgary Transit’s recommendation to incorporate CNG vehicles into the regular transit bus fleet on the basis of operational cost savings and environmental benefits. A critical requirement for a CNG powered fleet is the infrastructure to store, fuel and maintain the buses.
The new 44,300 square metre facility will provide storage and maintenance space for Transit’s new fleet of CNG buses. It will be capable of housing over 420 buses with 36 maintenance bays, two steam bays, on-site compressed natural gas compression and indoor fuelling infrastructure.
The Pura team will provide:
Review the preliminary design parameters for the project.
Organize and participate in a Hazop review of the project design.
Act as a quality reviewer for AECOM to review the detailed CNG design drawings to ensure that all Canadian and provincial codes and standards are met and provide an Alberta engineering stamp to the final drawings.
Assist AECOM in reviewing the shop drawings and detailed bill of materials provided by the contractors.
Provide field review and verification of work completed during installation, pressure testing and commissioning of the piping, tubing and equipment.
